Dedicated to the memory of Jane Margaret Blayney

Jane was a much-loved wife, mother of four and Granny to her five grandchildren, and her family was very important to her. Before her long-term illness made life more difficult for her, she enjoyed a very active working and social life, and made many friends along the way. The family home bore witness to countless dinner parties, family gatherings and celebrations over the years, and Jane was at the centre of all of this. After she retired from her working life, she joined the team of volunteers at the Hospice of St Francis where she then worked three days a week for the next 8+ years. She absolutely loved her time there, and was very sad when she had to stop for health reasons, but little did she know that her time there would later reap much greater rewards than she could have envisaged: it was the very same Hospice who stepped in on the day of her terminal cancer diagnosis on 4th November 2024, and who took her into their care for the last 22 days of her life. The time that Jane spent at the Hospice was very special - to her, and all the family. We promised her that we would do all we could to repay the debt of gratitude that we owe to the Hospice, and for that reason we ask that instead of sending flowers you consider making a donation to the Hospice in memory of Jane.
